Sarah Austin: You Got It! ... Another Ford Fiesta Winner!

Sarah Austin is one of Justin.tv's pioneer life casters who became involved in live streaming back in May, 2007 along with other pioneer life casters such as Mooncricket, ParrisHarris, IJustine to name a few. She is also the founder of the renown website Pop17 whereby she hosts a weekly show at theMogulus studio in which she explores Internet trends, startups and interviews vloggers, bloggers (both renown and obscure) along with various renown tech personalities to explore the cultural phenomenon, "online micro celebrity." Her Pop17 sponsors are mt™(mediatemple), TechCrunch™, perkettPR™, Virgin america™ and intel™.

During the Ford Fiesta contest, Sarah was in between shooting her weekly Pop17 show and had been talking to Julia Roy , a senior agent at Undercurrent . Undercurrent is a company providing strategies for popular branded consumers that have become digitized in the Internet.

During the course of their conversation, Julia suggested that Sarah consider entering the Ford Fiesta contest. The odds were in her favor: Sarah didn't own a vehicle in New York, she has many viewers due to her popular show Pop17 and making a video is second nature to her... what did she have to lose?

Unscripted, Sarah made her Ford Fiesta video and submitted her entry like countless others, taking a chance in winning. On Wednesday April 7th, while sitting at her computer and chatting to people on Facebook™, Sarah received her call from Ford congratulating her as one of their one hundred agents.

During the New York Ford Fiesta meetup held Tuesday, April 7th, Sarah posed for a snapshot seated in one of the brand new Magenta Ford Fiesta vehicles. Could that be the color she selected? I guess we'll just have to wait and see when she broadcasts her challenging missions. See you

Ford Fiesta Wheels Keep on Turning @ JTV: KaraKay Another Ford Fiesta Winner!

The wheels keep on rolling in the Justin.tv community with another Fiesta Movement winner. I shared Mooncrickets, Jane_ds and Parris Harris's stories with all of you, yet there's more! Karakay, another popular broadcaster will soon be going on her missions in her brand new Ford Fiesta!

That's right! Karakay had heard about the Ford Fiesta movement via Justin.tv and decided why not? She read their requirements and decided to make a video...her very first video! Never having been exposed to the cutting/editing process of making a video (and knew she was racing against time which added definite excitement), she made her very first edited video ever! This couldn't have come at a better time for Karakay as it was the perfect opportunity for her to try out her recently purchased video editing software.

She made her video, did all her editing as quickly as she could to beat the deadline, and submitted it resulting in this winning entry: Karakay's Ford Fiesta Movement and in her Ford Fiesta Movement page. Isn't that beginner's luck for you!

On April 1st, KaraKay received her congratulatory phone call from Ford, informing her that she too had been selected as one of their one hundred agents. On April 24th she flies to Chicago where she picks up her brand new Ford Fiesta. She told me she's very excited to be representing Ford and can not wait to see what missions are in store for her. Karakay had planned to travel across the country this summer singing at various concerts and festivals; she is a genuine free spirit ...the open road will suit her just fine, and what better way than in her new Ford Fiesta! ...Rolling rolling rolling!

Jane_ds: Another New Agent to Drive a Ford Fiesta!

Jane_ds: Another New Agent to Drive a Ford Fiesta!

Jane received an email from Tia-Marie, our Justin.tv Community Director informing her about the Ford Fiesta Movement. Initially, Jane didn't pay much attention; she then decided to review the submission videos that people from all over the country submitted for this contest and figured, why not? This looked easy enough! Jane then began her preparation for this video entry figuring out what to say wherever she would go. Although she wanted to keep this quiet, she felt she needed assistance. She decided to contact one of her trusty moderators, Champura on Justin.tv who lives in the Big Apple to tell him the news. He told her he edits videos and this sounded like a fun idea. With the help of Champura, they worked endlessly for two weeks to make a top video. Jane created the script, clips, audio, pictures and whatever else she could possibly think of to be as creative for her video. She created the content and her friend did all the editing. What an awesome job! Check out her submission video: Jane DS video and in her Ford Fiesta Movement. She submitted the application along with the video and having the same hope as thousands of others ... to drive a 2011 Ford Fiesta.

On March 30th at 5:45PM (CST) her dream came true. She had just finished messaging someone who also submitted a video for this venture. He mentioned to her that he received the call from Ford and was selected as one of the one hundred agents to be driving the new Ford Fiesta. Jane (anxiously waiting) congratulated him while he told her to sit tight and keep her fingers crossed. A few moments later, the telephone rang ... it was Ford congratulating her! Jane had a choice of colors: magenta. black grey and lime; she chose black. Jane then sent a global Twitter message saying she had won; unfortunately her phone battery lost its' power due to all the texting she had sent and received ... her messages...gone! Jane was informed that she will be flown to Austin, Texas for a two day conference and then she would drive home with her brand new 2011 black Ford Fiesta. All the cars are manual; since Jane has never driven a stick shift, she will be taking a course while down there to learn how to drive her new car. Congratulations to Jane_ds! Great things are happening within the Justin.tv community!

The Ford Fiesta Winning Streak Continues at JTV: Parris Harris Teams Up with Sebastian of Yoga Army

As you all know, the Ford Fiesta movement is the latest talk buzzing around the Justin.tv community. Quite a few of our broadcasters have won. Having written about Mooncricket and Jane_ds' win, the list keeps growing.

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak on the phone with Parris Harris, fashionista extraordinaire who informed me that he had teamed up with Sebastian of the renown fashion house, Yoga Army (www.yogaarmy.com) to create their winning Ford Fiesta video.

When I contacted Parris to get his story he explained to me how this all came about. This is what he had to say: "I had been looking for someone to make this video with, and I thought, who better than but Yoga Army! I briefly mentioned the Ford Fiesta contest to Sebastian, however at that time he and his company Yoga Army were busy with the Project Trade show as well as many magazines and photo shoots." Meanwhile what Parris didn't know was that Sebastian had already heard about the contest and had checked into it online. When I called to speak to Sebastian on the phone, to get his side of the story, he mentioned to me, "At first impression, I was taken aback by many of the videos as people seemed to be begging for a free car. I thought with the status of the Ford Motor Company and the current economic situation, there had to be more to this than a free giveaway; it then hit me."

Parris Harris then contacted Sebastian on his birthday telling him he had a surprise and simply mentioned “Ford Fiesta - you'll love it Sebastian, plus you’ll drive a Ford.” Sebastian replied, “Really? Well, I’ve got a surprise for you too!” It was all very spontaneous.

Parris dragged Sebastian to an empty downtown Los Angeles parking lot and began to film their winning video. Unscripted, they made their video right there on the spot. Although both Parris and Sebastian made their video for the Ford Fiesta contest, they both felt there is a much deeper message than simply winning the contest. Here is what they believe:

“We care about Ford and we care about America. It’s about an American tradition. Ford put Americans on the road. It’s about loyalty, change, hope, nationalism. It’s about getting connected to your “inner vehicle” … that driving force deep inside you, the one that drives us to survive, the one that put man on the moon, the one that pulled us out of the great depression, the one that brought about the American Industrial Revolution (of which Ford was a major part.) We look at America and see all the problems surrounding us: our failing economy, declining stock market, international issues, the housing market, rising interest rates and we say, “hold on, time out! It’s time to think about what each of us can do to make this situation better.”

“The answer as we see it, is to get connected to our inner vehicle, the driving force to move us forward, to help us create new ideas and bring about a new industrial revolution. Most of all, to generate a new mindset in how we think and feel so that we, as a united nation, can take charge to make effective changes for a more peaceful world …one millimeter, one inch, or one mile at a time. Ford Motor Company put us in the car, they represent movement, they represent change.”

With Parris’ funny style and Sebastian's film background they rocked the video; the finished product speaks for itself: ParrisHarris & Yoga Army Video, (Ford Fiesta movement page)

On Tuesday March 31st at 12:35pm, while Sebastian was brushing his teeth, FORD left a voice message on his phone congratulating both him and Parris. When Sebastian heard the voice mail, he nearly fell off his chair. He immediately called Parris hundreds of times while simultaneously texting him but to no avail, he couldn't get in touch with Parris. When Sebastian finally made contact with Parris and told him the good news, Parris screamed so loud. National P.H.ashion-Yoga Army day was declared!

Ford Fiesta and JTV …both winners on the road!

MOONCRICKET: One of Ford Fiesta's New Agents!

As many of you know, Ford Fiesta recently held a contest, the Fiesta Movement to drive one of their 2011 Ford Fiesta cars. Justin.tv had announced this contest informing the community that one hundred people will be selected as agents to drive (all expenses paid) for six months, to include free insurance, maintenance and gas.

Among many of our members (both viewers and broadcasters) within the Justin.tv community, our talented, independent filmmaker Mooncricket submitted his entry with the same dream as thousands of others of winning and becoming an agent for this venture. He noticed that other entrants were using actual Ford vehicles to submit their entries. Not having this luxury, Mooncricket decided to resort to what he does best ... using his creativity and filmmaking skills to make his video submission for this contest. First Mooncricket prepared a script to be used for this video. Then, (determined as he was) staying up all hours, Mooncricket cut out the shape of a Ford Fiesta from a cardboard box and painted it green. This would be used as a prop for his video.

Along with three cameras mounted to a beaten down 90's Grand AM, some footage from his documentary, the BBOY Connection, his homemade green cardboard Ford Fiesta prop for his outside scenes, a good friend and an actual passerby for some delightful humor, the video was made .. now that's what I call creative! Check out his video: Mooncricket's Ford Fiesta Video, and in his Ford Fiesta movement page.

He then submitted (like thousands of others) his application and video to the Fiesta Movement to be one of the first in the nation to drive and experience the Ford Fiesta, thereby being part of this exciting venture. Mooncricket told me he showed the "graffiti style" on the car to make Ford aware that he feels confident he can successfully market the Ford Fiesta to the Hip Hop culture and to those who are Scion & Honda sporty style fans.

On Monday,March 30th, Mooncricket was feeling stressed about completing a new trailer for his documentary movie when he received a telephone call from Ford saying, "Congratulations, you've been chosen." Not expecting this call, he was shocked.

Mooncricket told me, he owned many a car but they always gave him problems. He wanted a Ford Focus as the gas savings was great, however personal circumstances didn't warrant this, so he settled for a Chevrolet Cavalier. Unfortunately, after continuously sinking money into fixing this "lemon of a deal" he finally gave it up after having a breakdown while mobile broadcasting on Justin.tv in 2007. Thereafter, Mooncricket resorted to riding his bicycle or public transportation to get to work which viewers see in many of his broadcasts on Justin.tv.

However, Monday was a new day for Mooncricket and he's now more motivated than ever. According to Moon, "With God in my life, all things are possible." Congratulations Mooncricket. This is truly well deserved. We look forward to seeing you broadcast on Justin.tv in your new Ford Fiesta.

Scorpionsting: Third French Broadcaster on Justin.tv and One Funny Guy

Scorpionsting, the 3rd French broadcaster joined Justin.tv December 21, 2007 and as he will admit to, a "JTV ADDICT"! His first LIVE broadcast was December 27, 2007.

Scorpionsting is a friendly, outgoing guy who loves his music while having fun and loves to be in front of his webcam. He is quite polite, has a great sense of humor and does some of the silliest things! You may find him showing you his animals or depending on the season, you just may see him do a special broadcast to celebrate a holiday such as Halloween or Christmas.

Scorpionsting has actually met and become quite a good friend with Maxime15tv and they have broadcasted together LIVE from Paris! Many a time you may see him chatting in either Maxime15tv's and/or CC30tv channel.

The next time you feel like chatting with a funny french guy, stop by and say hello to Scorpionsting at justin.tv/scorpionsting.

Maxime15TV: Second French Broadcaster on Justin.tv

Maxime15tv, aka Maxime15, came to the Justin.tv community back in April 2007 while he was watching his local French news and saw the newscaster discussing this guy, Justin Kan and his lifecasting. This sparked Maxime15's interest, so he decided to check out what this lifecasting phenomenon was all about...and has been hooked ever since!

In May, 2007, he met CC30TV (aka Charles) the first Justin.tv French broadcaster on Charles’s channel where he and other French people could finally chat in their native language; Maxime15 was delighted. His very first LIVE broadcast was on CC30tv's channel in July 2007, but his first LIVE broadcast on his own channel (in BETA version), was in August 2007,

Justin.tv opened up a whole new world for Maxime15tv. Not only did he meet other French people like CC30, Scorpionsting, Melimelo to name a few, but also it has helped him to improve his mastery of the English language. He has met people from other parts of the world who do not speak French thereby forcing him to learn English and use it as much as possible to communicate.

Maxime15 actually met Charles (CC30tv) in May 2008 and broadcasted together in 3G. They have been building the French community, www.lifecasting.fr as an offshoot of Justin.tv Maxime15 created the design for the banner for the website and keeps the French community informed with the current events that go on within the actual Justin.tv website. I am delighted to say that I do write for the English version of their website, (http://www.lifecasting.fr/en/), and have published several articles.

Their French community is growing within Justin.tv; more and more French people from all over the globe are coming to their channels and going to their lifecasting,fr to read the latest events. Anyone can actually write for this website, just let either Maxime or Charles know you are interested in sharing something of interest and I am sure they will be delighted to post your article.

Check out Maxime15tv at justin.tv/maxime15tv and have some fun the French way!

What JTV has ment to us...

For those of you that don't know I am Net Dragon on JTV. I started lifecasting May 22nd, 2007. I started getting involved with JTV back when Justin made his first lifecast. For that moment i was hooked. After some time I wanted to become more involved so I decided to lifecast myself. I figured I would base the lifecast around JuJu (daughter) and I a single father raising a daughter with health issues. I have to say it took off slow and had a lot of odd balls coming in and say a lot of dumb stuff. The things I have gotten from JTV are an online family. Back in November 2007 JuJu went in for open heart surgery. That was the toughest time in my life ever and I do mean ever. I decided to lifecast even then. A lot of members from JTV were there every step of the way with me. Even though I went whole days without chatting they understood and when I needed someone to talk to they were there as soon as I opened the laptop. To this day I am still as grateful as ever. After a while (almost a year later) I had gotten lifecasters burn out. I stopped lifecasting for about 6 months. I received a lot of emails and just needed a break. It was not fare for my viewers and JTV family. After a while I started logging on to JTV and do what’s called lurking. (Sitting in chat rooms) just to see how some of the family were doing. A lot of them didn’t broadcast anymore and had forgotten about JTV or were broadcasting somewhere else. I’ve been back on JTV for about 4 months now. I broadcast here and there and I’m starting to broadcast more and more like I used to. Someday I will lifecast again 24/7. Well in a nut shell what JTV has meant for us. Meeting a lot of great and caring people that are here when I need someone to talk with. It means a place online where I can say is home and where I am always welcome and feel cared about. I really don’t know what I would do without JTV now. I would like to thank every one of our jtv friends and family for being here for us. You can visit our site at www.djnjuju.com

Happy Holidays from DJ & JuJu
